We are currently seeking an experienced Deputy Warehouse Operations Manager to join our team in the Chill Division, Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin.
Support the Operations Manager in the daily operations of the warehouse. Take charge of supervising and guiding directly reporting Supervisors and Team Leads to ensure they possess a comprehensive understanding of effective management of work assignments and handling employee inquiries.
What does the role entail?
- Ensure the availability of fully trained resources, both in terms of manpower and equipment, to handle projected weekly volumes while maintaining costs within budgeted targets.
- Oversee the performance of all warehouse team members, focusing on Quality, Productivity, and Health & Safety.
- Effectively delegate and distribute daily tasks essential for meeting contractual standards set by the client.
- Collaborate with employees to address and improve any identified deficiencies highlighted in weekly reports.
- Maintain full compliance and adherence to Food Safety/HACCP & Food Defence guidelines in all operational areas.
- Coordinate with Stock Controller and Goods-Inwards to uphold the highest levels of customer service.
- Ensure that operational procedures align with the current iteration of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and that all staff are thoroughly trained on relevant SOPs, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Actively monitor and manage absenteeism, timekeeping, and adherence to defined break periods.
- Address all employee queries promptly and thoughtfully.
- Proactively participate in monitoring the training needs of all staff and contribute to the delivery of identified training.
- Cultivate an environment where communication and feedback can flow in all directions.
- Demonstrate and drive the PRL values (Partnership, Reliability, Leadership) in day-to-day activities and instill the same behaviors in direct reports.
- Be flexible regarding hours of work and work patterns as demand dictates.
- Provide support and cover for the Operations Manager as requested, particularly from a customer-facing perspective.
- Continuously monitor the Proteus system to ensure the prompt movement of products from Goods-Inwards to Warehouse, Warehouse to Staging area, and Warehouse to pick faces.
Who we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a warehouse setting, preferably in the FMCG Industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing warehouse teams and operations.
- Demonstrated track record of providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A collaborative team player with a strong emphasis on people and team dynamics.
- Exceptional organizational and prioritization abilities.
- Problem-solving skills and the capacity to make effective decisions in a high-paced environment.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Essential expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with Transport Management Systems (TMS) is advantageous.
- A positive can-do attitude is a crucial attribute for success in this role.
