An Irish owned, multisite, packaging company who supply to the Food, Retail, Industrial, Agri & Pharmaceutical Industries are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong communication skills, initiative, attention to detail, customer service and flexibility.

What’s the role?

The Raw Materials Buyer is responsible of sourcing of raw materials in Europe and Globally, from vendor selection/setup through price negotiation, purchase order creation, order tracking, days of stock management and vendor management.

What will you be doing?

  • Planning material requirements to support inventory and sourcing objectives
  • Process Purchase Orders, track and monitor.
  • Conduct sourcing activity regularly
  • Identify and execute cost savings projects.
  • Contract negotiation and revision.
  • Maintain and manage communication with internal teams and all suppliers.
  • Manage sales requirements for pricing / marketing information
  • Manage longer term requirements in order to ensure sufficient supply in line with forecast and reorder points.
  • Report on supply issues/shortages, inventory levels and logistical challenges.
  • Monthly reporting on procurement KPIs

What are we looking for?

You’re the ideal candidate if you …

  • A minimum of three years purchasing experience, working with an ERP system.
  • Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and other MS Office software.
  • Theoretical and hands on knowledge of purchasing and material planning concepts.
  • Proven organizational, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact in a team environment.
