We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a:

Sales Developer – NI (Food)

This is an exciting time within our clients business as they seek to significantly grow new and existing client accounts across the province with a fantastic product range.

Salary – £22k basic + 20% Bonus + branded van

Role Overview:

Grow sales revenue for all products/brands by developing business with existing customers, capturing new business opportunities with new customers, while providing excellent customer service within a defined territory.

Main Responsibilities:

Promote, sell and merchandise all food products/brands from either van stock/transfer orders or central warehouse to new and existing customers in a defined territory.

Merchandise any off-sale skus on arrival in store using available storeroom or van stock.

Achieve or exceed all assigned sales targets to include; revenue growth, stand/rack placement & relocation, call strike rate and distribution growth of the product portfolio.

Achieve specified distribution targets, creating instore availability of new listings and NPD in all accounts.

Identify new account opportunities and proactively cold call on target accounts to acquire new business within your area.

Replenish display stands ensuring products are correctly merchandised on Company owned stands according to planogram.

Communicate regularly with the Field Sales Manager providing timely updates and highlighting new opportunities.

Build displays, activate promotions, negotiate stand/rack positioning, set up and merchandise new stands/racks and ensure that all products are scanned and priced.

Proactively suggest re-orders to customers for out of stock or low stock lines within stores

Maximise sales during promotional periods.

Maintain an up to date route plan accurately reflecting the customer base for your defined territory, both current customer base and potential new customers.

Adhere to a journey plan and target strike rate which includes all targeted accounts within the defined territory.

Transmit information/orders via handheld to head office daily.

Collect cash from cash on delivery (COD) accounts. Ensure that all cash sale accounts pay within the agreed terms.

Conduct regular stock takes and order / collect stock from depot as required.

Adhere to a flexible hours contract, with core working hours commencing on arrival at your first call of the working day by 8.00/9.00am, and leave the final call of the day no earlier than 3.45/4.45pm, dependant on agreed start time with the Field Sales Manager

Core working hours include 30 minutes for lunch, and do not include travel to and from the first and final calls of the working day.

You must be available and contactable by phone between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm.

Any other duties as required to fulfil the Company needs.

Qualifications:

3 A Levels (or equivalent)

Experience:

1+ years’ proven sales experience within the FMCG marketplace.

Proven track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities

Previous in-store Merchandising experience in an FMCG environment

Skills & Competencies:

Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to negotiate

Self-motivated, enthusiastic and tenacious individual with a positive can-do attitude

Customer orientated approach

Demonstrate excellent planning, problem solving and organisational skills
