We are currently seeking a highly qualified and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our team in Greenogue Business Park, Rathcoole, Co. Dublin.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Health & Safety Manager will play a crucial role in developing and implementing the company’s Health & Safety agenda, ensuring that the provision of H&S services aligns with and reinforces the overall business strategy. At PRL, we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our employees.

As the individual responsible for the Health & Safety function within the organisation, you will offer support, advice, and guidance to executives and leaders. Your role also involves ensuring that the day-to-day service provision and frameworks throughout the organisation are appropriate and effective.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a diploma or degree qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Possesses a minimum of 6+ years of experience in warehousing, distribution, industrial, and/or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrate experience in maintaining and actively participating in all elements of the occupational health and safety management system ISO45001, with a proven track record of continual improvement.
  • Is a certified ISO 45001 Lead Auditor and has experience in dealing with external auditors, including HSA inspections.
  • Experience in dealing with the carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Sea a distinct advantage.
  • Exhibit familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures, publications, and the ability to interpret and provide advice on relevant legislation.
  • Experience in case management and third-party processes.
  • Proven track record in conducting effective investigations, audits, inspections, and compiling comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Possess the ability to lead health and safety projects and influence at an executive and senior level.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to collate and present business reports and provide insights.
  • Committed to delivering value and introducing new initiatives to enhance the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Devise and roll out a fit for purpose 2-5-year occupational H&S strategy that ensures compliance and aligns to the overall PRL business strategy across both the PRL Logistics and PRL Sales & Marketing businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Provide expert advice, support, and guidance on health and safety matters to executive and leadership teams.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to health and safety incidents, training, and compliance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to continuously improve health and safety performance.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in occupational health and safety.
