As Ireland begins to emerge from the Covid-19 lock down and as business doors start to re-open on high streets across the Republic of Ireland, the challenges senior leader, managers and business owners now face are like no other previously experienced. According to a number of scholars and economist, Ireland is staring down the barrel of a second recession in less than a decade. Some retailers have predict the Covid-19 recession to be one of the most challenging and devastating recessions of all time. Dublin’s oldest retailer Tom Monaghan who first opened his fashion shop doors over 60 years ago and has weathered three recessions, feels the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown will be felt on his business for well over 12 months.
With the above challenges in mind, we have interviewed three leadership and business experts to review their thoughts on the challenges businesses now face as the lock down eases and business activities begin to improve. The three video interviews below are all between 10 and 15 minutes long and are well worth a watch.

Previously a Senior Finance Leader himself in a global business, Mark now devotes his time in mentoring, supporting and coaching senior leaders across Ireland achieve success. In this interview Mark highlights his three core areas senior leaders should be focussing on post Covid-19 to support their teams and businesses succeed in what will be a challenging climate.
- Interview 2: Francois is a CFO with more than 20 years experience in practice and industry, helping SME’s across the island of Ireland to grow sustainably, save time and gain real insight into their finances.
- Interview 3: Anja is an agile talent strategist, leadership consultant and coach with over 20 years executive experience. Anja’s interests include corporate culture, employee engagement and mentoring with a specific focus on adopting the agile principles to support companies staying relevant. In our opinion, never has such an interest been so crucial for businesses to survive and prosper following both personal and business challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
